It's nearly upon us! Guy Fawkes night........a very British tradition of remembering The Gunpowder Plot...

In simple terms everybody layers up with clothing to stand around a huge fire in attempt to warm up because they're freezing, whilst firework are ignited only to send cats on dogs everywhere into a frenzy!

OK.....sounds a little bit cynical......but for everyone out there who enjoys a good firework display most of them now require you to pay up front or "on the door" meaning that tyvek wristbands then become a feature!

They can be seen in most nightclubs, the velvet red rope separating those who are deemed "very important" or people who just pay enough to become important from the general public. If you're lucky enough you may get the odd glimpse of a celebrity with a bottle of Grey Goose at their table while you end up queuing at the bar.

Either way, VIP sections are a necessary addition to night club floors allowing people to pay premium prices to be treated like royalty for the evening. Celebrities are often coxed in to make appearances that help draw a crowd and bring more custom. Clean leather couches and your own security guard are often the main give-away for such a section in but wristbands are almost always used as a method of distinguishing between the VIP's and the P's.

White Collar Boxing has been gradually increasing in popularity over the last few years, seeing independent boxing companies spring up all over the UK.

There was a time when the mention of this particular type of boxing sent images of angry young city boys using it as a form of releasing their frustrations, characteristics that mimic that of the famous movie Fight Club. However it's become clear that the increased shift towards the sport as well as the diversity of people the are starting to participate is down to far more than an outlet to release aggression and frustration.

Anyone who has ever tried boxing knows the stamina and the sheer determination it takes in order to become a successful fighter. The idea that surrounds goal orientated fitness which results in a mass of blood, sweat and tears ultimately climaxing in Fight Night, means that every participant has something to work towards. A showcase of all their hard work and discipline.

Which brings in the topic of wristbands......

The spectators present during a fight are often separated into different sections with ringside seats and VIP sections being the most exclusive. Security and staff members also need wristbands in order to be distinguished from the public. Often different colours are used to help this happen.

A perfect way to sample the bars and clubs of any particular district of a city is to go on a pub crawl. Specifically a well organised crawl.....headed up with guide and a wide range of free goodies and drinks specials to sweeten the deal.
